About Us

Our goal is to make content management both simple and affordable to organizations of all sizes.

policyIQ was launched in 2002 by Snap River Technologies, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania software development firm. The software was marketed to companies as a solution to manage the business content that did not fit into their existing financial, sales, operations or HR systems. This is often referred to as “unstructured content” and is typically found spread across users' computers, file directories, and internal intranet sites. Without a proper way to manage this content, it becomes outdated, conflicts with other versions, and is difficult or impossible to find.

Shortly after our launch, the financial scandals in the U.S. led to the signing of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. All of a sudden, managing policies and procedures – as well as documenting business risks, testing to ensure that controls were being followed, and tracking and reporting on issues – was no longer a luxury, but a requirement. We had the benefit of being ahead of the market.

In early 2003 Snap River formed a national relationship with Resources Connection to introduce policyIQ to Resources’ clients. After some early successes, in July 2003 Resources acquired all of the stock of Snap River and made policyIQ a product offering that was complementary to Resources’ existing services offerings.

Resources began as a business within one of the Big 5 Accounting firms in the mid-1990’s. By 2000 Resources had spun off as its own company and gone public on the NASDAQ under its ticker RECN. Today Resources Global Professionals has almost 4,000 employees that provide internal consulting to over 2,000 clients through our 80 worldwide offices. Resources provides its services through a number of different service lines including Accounting & Finance, Human Capital, Internal Audit, Supply Chain, Information Management, and Legal Services.

policyIQ is used by over 200 companies worldwide, ranging from small sales with just a few users to large sales with over 10,000 users, in a variety of industries and for a variety of different uses.
